The design of the Surface Book, especially around its fulcrum hinge, remains one of the strongest aspects of the design… you can easily recognize a Surface Book while out and about and Microsoft has done nothing to alter that.
In terms of weight, the i5 variant of the Surface Book 2 is 20g heavier than the original, while the i7 variant is 30g lighter than the comparable specced Performance Base. The Surface Book 2 with the Core i5 matches the base Surface Book in terms of size, while the new Core i7 model matches the Performance Base version of the Surface Book. Putting aside the 15-inch version of the Surface Book 2 (a new size for this generation), there is very little difference in size between the old and the new models.
